Join our monthly sewing club in York

Sewing can sometimes be a solitary activity, but when done in a group, it can become a social and inspiring experience where members can motivate each other, help each other through challenging projects and celebrate each other's progress together.

Joining a sewing club is a wonderful way to bring like-minded people together who share a love for creativity. Whether you’re an experienced sewist or just getting started, a sewing group can offer a welcoming space to learn new skills, exchange ideas, and work on projects in a fun and supportive environment. 

Join the York Sewing Club and meet new friends, build confidence in your sewing abilities, and have fun along the way!  Whether you’re working on personal projects, or you wish to join us in making a different project each session, all skill levels are welcome!  However, if you are a total beginner and wish to learn to sew, please do sign up to a beginner sewing class prior to joining.

Numerous sessions will be held monthly in both our shop studio and at our Clifton Moor studio on the outskirts of York. Although these sessions aren’t specifically tutor-led, a tutor will be at hand to help if you need any help.

What you will need

Both our sewing studio's are kitted out with Brother sewing machines for each attendee to use.  If you would prefer to use your own sewing machine, please do get in touch prior to the lesson as this is also an option, we just need to ensure we have the space.  Please bring along all you need to work on your project.
If the session is held in our shop, you can purchase any fabrics, patterns and/or notions in store and benefit from a 10% discount in store. If the session is held at our Clifton Moor studio, please bring along all you need for your project. 

Bookings are set up each month and are pre-booked on a first come first served basis based on a set number of spaces, so if you wish to attend, please sign up to a specific date & location. If you wish to attend multiple sessions in one set month, please contact us and we will issue you a small discount.

Tea, coffee, squash, biscuits and a big smile will all be provided!

EVENING SESSIONS:
Every first Tuesday of each month - 6:00PM-8:00PM
Location: Sewcialising - 1st Floor, 6 Concept Court, Kettlestring Lane, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4XF
(Next session: Tues 1st April 2025)

Please note, these sessions will be pre-booked. Dates or times could possibly change on special occasions due to staff shortage, bank holidays or illness.
