1 Day Intro to Sewing With Stretch Fabric Workshop

Beginner Dressmaking Lessons

This sewing workshop is aimed at confident beginners who wish to learn the skills of how to sew with knit/stretch fabrics.

During this sewing course, you will make a t-shirt with a choice of long or short sleeves.

What you will learn:
- Cutting out your fabric with a rotary cutter.
- Sewing jersey with a regular sewing machine.
- Different needles and stitches to use for stretch fabrics.
- How to stabilise the shoulder seams
- How to attach a stretch neckline.
- Inserting a sleeve on the flat.
- Hemming with a twin needle.
- Using a walking foot.

What you will need to bring:

For all ladies sizes:
you will require 1.5m of jersey fabric. (30-48" / 76-120cm bust)

For the men sizes:
32-46" / 81-116cm chest you will require 2 metres of jersey fabric.
For 47-52" / 117-132cm chest you will require 2.5 metres of jersey fabric.

Please note you can buy your fabrics at our city centre store and are entitled to a 10% discount on all items bought for your workshop. Alternatively you may wish to purchase your fabrics elsewhere, which is also fine.
